In early 2006, Phil and Lorraine made the "sea change" to Blueys Beach, about 20km south of Forster. What a great decision that was, no regrets !
Phil has a long and continuing career in the financial and derivative markets, whilst Lorraine has been a highly successful teacher and private mathematics tutor.
We are fortunate to both be in good health, so we're out there "seeing things" when time and other commitments permit. During 2001-2012, we toured with a Landcruiser and Bushtracker outback caravan. We didn't do the real rough stuff, but probably 5,000km of 'good dirt' during this time.
Actually, we had two Bushtrackers, the first an 18' van with L-shaped dining, and later an 20' van with the classic (and very practical) café-style dining arrangement. Both were great, and both were still as good as new when the time came to sell them.
But now we have opted for a more leisurely and luxurious mode of travel, having purchased a Paradise 'Inspiration Supreme' motorhome with all the inclusions and features we could possibly want.
We have toured much of NSW, Victoria and SA on numerous occasions, but have only recently started embarking on the longer distances of outback Qld and Central Australia. And they are just fantastic.
People often say how awe-inspiring Uluru ('Ayers Rock') is, but to actually experience it is just fantastic. If you do visit, try and allow about 3-4 days. By the time you have done some day walks, sunset viewing with drinks, a trip to the Olgas and possibly a helicopter tour, you will soon appreciate just how much there is to occupy you.
And a walk around the base of Uluru (better still, take the bikes!) is something not to be forgot.
So relax, pull up a chair and enjoy your time here...
